Who I Am
Despite having spent 11 years in the digital marketing industry, my experience in business certainly didn’t start there. After finishing school, I went on to gain a position as a Business Support Officer at National Westminster Bank, where I spend almost five years learning my way through the finance industry. By 2004, it was time to move on and up and I was employed as a Branch Manager at HFC Bank, where I spent three years gaining experience in a managerial role.
By 2007, I moved on to become a Business Development Manager, this time at Advantage Home Loans, until January 2008, when I started up my own website – Advanced Finance Limited.
I hired an agency to promote the company but wasn’t seeing the results we’d been hoping for. I began researching into search engine optimisation myself, learning all I could about the best practices and techniques for building the online visibility of my company. I began to implement the techniques myself, driving Advanced Finance up through the SERPs and to position 1.
The company was bought by a leading price comparison site and I turned my attention to the search sphere. In June 2008, I started up a brand-new SEO agency of my own – SEO Positive.

The business was built up in an effort to offer Essex SEO expert knowledge, for both local businesses and nationally. We operated with a goal to build first-page positions for our clients wherever we could, putting together strategies that catered for SEO best practices, user experience and brand identity.
With the expertise, I’d built up through my own website, plenty of experience in the finance industry and in sales, and the marketing knowledge of in-house staff, SEO positive gained significant respect from other SEO and web design companies. We even secured our first award win from TopSEOs in 2010.
Throughout the time I was running SEO Positive, we worked with a number of companies both big and small, some of which were well-known brands. However, through the natural growth of the company and the expanding knowledge of in-house staff meant that the opportunity soon came for us to rebrand and offer more services and better position ourselves in the industry.
On May 1st 2012, SEO Positive became Absolute Digital Media. Our office in Chelmsford enabled me to showcase the company as more than just an SEO expert Essex, but as an Essex PPC expert, content marketing experts, social media experts and more.
